My shit broke down the other day. When Me, George, Wesley, and Matt headed out for a ride to shoot some pics while cruising through some back roads. On the way back to shop my bike just shut down while riding. Turned out it was just a wire issue. It's all good now and back up and running. Here's a few shots I got while we were riding before my shit broke down. ENJOY!!!!

Recently Me, Tim, and Wesley headed up to Brooklyn to see Vander for a ShowClass release party.....It was a fucking blast THANK YOU!!! Vander and Kat for putting us up for the weekend and for Vander getting the party together.....The party was at LadyJay's Bar in Brooklyn and it was a blast Miles the owner hooked it up with BBQ, Beer, and tons of free credits in the jukebox.....Thanks to everyone that came out to the party I met lots of RAD people at the party......Here are some photos I shot over the weekend.....I shot the photos of Vander riding his Pan by catching a ride on a cruiser board while holding on to Vander's sissy bar while he pulled me down the street in Brooklyn.....This whole weekend went by way to fast wish it would have lasted longer......Thanks again Vander and Kat love you guys......

Well it's 1:10 in the morning right now..... and this time last saturday I was well on my way getting drunk.....well I was drunk by then at this time.....All I can say is if you weren't there you missed an awesome time.....between the fireworks, moonshine, gun shooting, bonfire, food, beer, throwing stars, burnouts, swap, and great friends and family......It doesn't get any better.....Kyle came down from Baltimore and Jay came up from Flordia with those two alone equals great a time.....I really don't know the last time I had so much fun I mean me and Jay headed out for a little cruise that turned out to be pretty epic I had a blast hauling ass through some back roads and passing cars on double lanes......All in all thanks to everyone that came out last saturday to make it such an awesome time......Tim, Matt, George, Jay, Kyle, Josh, Wesley, Ray, and to the OG's love you all. So let me just start by saying I thought I was going to be shooting two front blunt transfers back to back the other night. I shot Thomas's first and then Sturgill showed up talking about how he wanted to front blunt the flat bar at cash points and transfer into the bank. I was like hell yeah thats awesome lets do it. If you have ever been to this spot I think its the busy ATM in the world. But, when we got there Sturgill had already changed his mind and now was going to 50-50 it. Well in a matter of minutes that had changed again to I'm just going to 180 man thats cool right. So then it turned out to MAN MAN I'm just going to ollie it. So that's a little background on the first two photos. I don't care what Sturgill does it's just good to have him out and hyping the sessions up, and if I'm lucky enough to get a photo of him I'm always stoked. But hats off to Sturgill its a big ollie and the ground at this spot is shit for sure. Thanks for putting in the work Sturgill and you have to admit he has one nice ollie. And for the two different angles of Byrd's wallride well I liked them both. ENJOY!!!!!

My friend Cameron is a really nice guy. So nice in fact, lets say that you were going in to the kitchen to get him a drink and while you were gone he’d fuck your cat. I mean this guy is a true friend (with a bit of a kitten fetish) on par with the rest of our crew on this adventure to Tampa. He is the redneck Austin Powers of North Carolina. You know Hue? Hue god damn right player. Now that’s a good way to start a trip.

Starting a skate trip five days before you even leave your buddy’s is a perfect way to start a trip. The theme of this was "Gettin it in." We made it completely clear to everyone around us everywhere we went that we were gettin it in. Didn’t matter if it was the bouncer at a bar that was kicking us out or sweet baggage lady at a Whole Foods, we were "gettin it in" and they knew. Like every good trip there is a theme song (words to live by for five days) ours just happened to be for the rest of our lives, a little number written by Fleetwood Mac dubbed “The Chain”. This song was not only played on repeat but most often stopped 45 seconds in to be replayed so we could appreciate every sound that came out of ole Stevie’s big head. Oh yeah, and the word “Player” was used at the end of every statement, question, or just used alone in regards to nothing at all.

It came up on the deck of Jed Shooter’s ramp. “ You wanna go to Tampa Pro?” And that was it, but there is a bit more to it than that. I had more of a motive then to just get in the car with dudes and get down there. I have been there every year since the Eighth grade, my Dad and I went down until about Eleventh Grade and then it was mostly show up with Peterson and a few others. It dawned on me months ago that I had never been on a Tampa trip with anyone else other than my Dad or Peterson. So the meat of the crew went like this: Me on Drums, Cameron on Guitar, Jed on the Keyboards, and Billy Childress holding down Vocals and the camera. Actually, lets put Cameron on the Keyboards, with a few kitty cats at his feet. We had P Coots on the Dick Tuba for a few stops, then a special guest appearance from Dave Berard on Saturday night.

There are many fine hosts down the line to Florida in which carry their very own merits and disparities creating a wonderful ride of getting it the fuck in, player. We started the trip a week before we got in the truck via my contacts list on my phone. We called everyone in the phone. No one picked up till Jeron Wilson. And that was in that was in the W’s, not the J’s. Nevertheless he did confirm for Tampa and he did meet my Daddy.

We rolled up in Charleston hot, bud. So we thought. Road sodas all the way down. We had the thought in our heads that we were gonna be the crew that rolls in on fire. But we were stopped at the Gate of Otis’s. Out partied from the jump off. That’s a good way to start a trip. We had what you may be able to call a session, but more of a backyard BBQ with no food. It was pretty rad and then things started to unravel a bit ending with me breaking my arm at the elbow carving over the stairs for the cops. I’ll be honest, I had a plan of trying to take it easy on the trip and do well in Tampa, I mean shit, it’s been ten years since I’ve won, and my Dad was flying in. But after I broke my shit I threw the towel in and I accidentally mixed a mason jar of moonshine with whatever drugs they gave me at the ER. Listen to the wind blow, Buck. It was on Cameron to keep the ripping alive on the trip and man did they. Jed has been amazing since I first saw him skate about 11 years ago, and Cameron could brush his teeth while doing a back smith. Billy was there to get it all: That man could hold a camera, a beer, a sandwich, or a skateboard and turn into your new favorite grown man in a matter of minutes.

We headed out of Charleston during a light rain while trying to skate a bridge spot. We got kicked out by what seemed to be the entire Charleston Police Department on each other’s shoulders in one big uniform. Holy fuck, he looked like a parade float. So we hauled ass to the oldest city in America, the beloved St. Augustine. Get it in. The team was apprehensive about what the night had in store, SC was wild. I assured them that we were gonna take it easy, meet some calm skaters and civilians alike, and eat at a badass restaurant called The Floridian on our way out. Well, we met up with one of the biggest pieces of work in North Florida. P-Coots. We grew up together and I can’t seem to shake this guy. So we got our calm hellos in, then headed to the bar and got it in. Again. The crew had formed another entity, and we were burning down 95 to meet Peterson and Bartie in Daytona Beach. Ever since World days those dudes have been attached romantically, whether its golf, guitar hero, or beer.

Well what can you say about Tampa that has not already been slurred. I got my board stolen at subway out of the back of a truck, but that was ok, I didn’t need it. The talent level is nothing short of mind blowing every year. The skateboard stars of past, present, and future gather for in what most consider being the best contest of the year. Eighth Grade for me was one hell of a year, I saw my first set of boobs, I was getting boards from Think, and I went to Tampa. The video parts run through your head, the friends and relationships you have created, loved, and/or endured rekindle, and skateboarding is celebrated properly for an extended weekend. If it were any more than twice a year the feeling would be lost. My Dad showed up and our crew lit it up all weekend. The arm was just a bump in the road on the way down to the South. I would have wanted to skate in the contest, but getting down there and hanging with friends, watching Cameron playing piano while singing to an old man in the hotel lobby, and telling Rick Howard I was going to get a Chocolate tattoo at least ten times was one hell of a way to start a trip. So if you want to get down to Tampa next year call your local travel agent and tell him to eat bag of dicks. Get a crew and hop in the truck, player. Words by Kyle Berard

Went out a couple weeks ago with OBX rippers Durand Beasley and Mikey Weeks to skate this ditch spot in Raleigh. Like most east coast spots they look awesome to skate but, as all east coast skaters know that looks can be deceiving with spots. This is one of those spots for sure. This may be one of the most hard to skate and gnarly spots I've been to in awhile. It's all DIY and its small and the ground is pretty rough with really no good way to get speed. Durand and Mikey definitely battled at this spot with finding a old piece of plywood to use as a roll in from the other side and running through the woods to throw down on the wood to get speed. Not to mention it was pretty cold and the sun was starting to go down. So BIG thanks to Durand and Mikey for battling all the odds and putting in the work to get these photos. ENJOY!!!

Over the past few months I've got to know Dan and go out and skate with him while working on his interview for FTK magazine. Dan is a rad guy he's pretty much down to skate whatever whenever. He's always hype at any session and always down to play a game a skate with Sturgil at the spot, and I would say 9 out of 10 he wins sorry Sturgil. Dan isn't no light weight at the bar either that dude can hold his own and he always has a great attitude toward everything. One thing I have notice about Dan is that he is 100 percent about everything he does, and what I mean is when he goes for a trick he goes all out he doesn't play around. I've seen him land a trick roll away from it. Then be like no not that one I can do that trick better than that. He'll go right back to trying the trick slamming, sticking it and not rolling away from it. I'm like Dan I got a good shot of the one you already landed, and then he says no one more try and then he lands it again. Big props Dan you KILL IT. About a month or so ago I got to spend about a week with Reuben Pickle and Cameron Keene. It started off as a weekend trip to Raleigh me and Reuben took and that lead into them coming back to Mount Airy and staying with me for a couple of days after we left Raleigh. The whole time we were together Cameron and Reuben keep saying Kitty Cats and Titty Tatts Reuben Pickle and Cameron-Paul Keene 2010 road trip. Then they would MEOW back and fourth at each other for awhile. Needless to say the trip was awesome and funny as hell. Mount Airy ripper Joey Jones came out to ledge spot in town and got down with us one night. The ledge spot was built by Joey and Will Jackson and it's in front of Will's skate shop Canvas so if your ever up this way stop by and skate the ledge or checkout the shop. YOUGOTTAGETTHAT! is a video that is featuring some of the East Coast's best skaters and their friends. Connor Champion, Mike Peterson, Dan Murphy, Bobby Worrest, Kyle Berard, Gilbert Crockett, Scotty Moore, Ricky Covach, Bob Reynolds, Tyler Tuffy, and last but not least Brett Abramsky all have parts in the video. Not only did Brett and Bob produce the video, but Brett filmed and edited as well. This video is awesome to me its like the East Coast version of the Tilt Mode Army. Through out the whole video they are having a blast skating and filming. To me that's what skating is all about having fun with all your friends that share that one common interest riding a skateboard. YOUGOTTAGETTHAT! is the follow up video of WHATHADHAPPENWUZ! so if you don't have either videos I suggest picking them both up. Can wait to see what TF Productions comes out with next. Both of these tricks below I shot can be seen in Brett's and Scotty's parts in the video. I'm really stoked on this video and all my friends skating nice work guys. Shot this photo Justin Brock a little while back in between the snow storms we were having you know we would all catch a few nice days in between and this was one of them. I tried my best to show how gnarly this spot was in this photo its "crazy", the bank is steep, rough, got ollie up on the curb at mach 3 speed, not to mention the flat bar is tall, traffic lots of traffic, because you start in the road and when come back into the bank your right back into traffic again. So the risk of getting hit by a car is high for sure. Not only is this spot all of these things but right where Justin was starting down the hill was in front of Willy's Bar which is pretty much the HELL's ANGEL's BAR and hangout. So while waiting for traffic and trying to get the trick a handful of what I'm guessing were HA's come out of the bar to see what's going on. They all get full into what's going down with beers in hand they yell GO GO GET IT GET IT MOUTHERFUCKER. So ENJOY!!!! because those guys did watching this go down.

Full_Pipe_???_KINDA???

Reuben Pickle has been calling me for weeks telling me how he has found this full pipe in Winston-Salem. He's like we got to go check this thing out its a water tower that has been turned over on its side. First, question I asked was how big is it?, and then is it possible to do anything in it? He was like yeah yeah its bigger than the full pipes in Raleigh. So at this point I was so stoked for the mission to find this thing clean it out and get some pics. Turns out that this thing is way smaller than the full pipes in Raleigh and way tighter and plus there was a big angle iron structure in the middle. So at this point I don't know what is going to happen or if anything is even possible in this thing. But we said to hell with it this is properly the only full pipe in Winston-Salem that we will ever find so we started cleaning it out. The whole time Reuben is telling me that he thinks he can carve over the bar would I want to shoot a photo of that hell yeah I want to shoot a photo of that. I thought he was crazy I didn't think there was anyway in hell he was going to make because this thing is so tight and at the point to make it over this bar your feet would have to go over vert. But never under estimate Reuben Pickle because he can always make something out of nothing. Big ups on this Reuben this shit was so sick glad I was there to capture it. ENJOY!!!

Jed Shooter is an all around stand up and super guy. Really you can't say enough good things about this guy always down for anything, super positive attitude, hard work ethic, and loves skateboarding. And if you didn't know Jed is a PRO skateboarder but this guy also works a 40 plus hour work week and still finds the time to balance everything. Jed and his brother Chad have been killing and ripping North Carolina to shreds for over a decade now and they both continue this today. Most of the spots you skate today I'm sure Jed and Chad both had something to do with either finding the spot, building the spot, bondoing the cracks, cutting the knobs, or some other type of fabrication that needs to be done to the spot. I've looked up to Jed and his skating for most of my skateboarding life and today I can say through all of this we have became great friends. Jed has some of the best POP OUTS in the game right now every trick he does is proper. Thanks Jed for everything you've helped me accomplish and being a great friend. Well we have had some bad weather lately in the Carolina's and it has sucked. But last weekend I headed to Raleigh to make something happen in the cold and rainy days. The rain held out long enough for us to skate Roughneck Nick's Ramp on friday night. It is not complete yet due to the fact that he has to move. The ramp was wet, slick, soggy, and no top layer yet but we made the best of it and had a blast. Thanks Nick for letting us come skate the ramp before you have to move it to its new location. This is where the PROBLEM IS because everyone of the homies is standing around waiting on your ass to get done filming or get the photo in this case we getting both JAHEARDMEH! So after you get the shot and footy you tell all the homies to get in the next shot y'all bout to get some BGP'S, this way they don't feel left out and sometimes you even got to throw in the homies that aren't around like Justin Brock's finger. This way when you get finished and roll to the next spot everyone is feeling good and ready to skate some more and they forgot about standing around in the cold watching you kill it, while wishing they were at a spot they wanted to skate. This is how you handle yours.

HOW TO GET YOUR WEEKEND RIGHT

FIRST thing when you wake up Saturday Morning around 12 you find all the clean clothes you got left in the floor and you get dressed then you go straight to the fridge and make whatever concoction you can come up with to get your grub on. To wash it all down with you need a I_CE_HOES_aka ICEHOUSE TallBoy.

SECOND thing you hit the laundry mat to do some clothes. But never waste the money on drying them there. All you need is a couple of trees and all the busted ass shoe laces out of your old shoes and you just tie them together and there you go clothes line. We try our best to keep it GREEN at the STABBIN CABIN.

THRID thing since your belly is full and you got some work out of the way its time to get your skate on. So you head to your local ledge spot and get your practice on and skate with the dudes and drink all the adult beverages you can while killing it.

FOURTH thing after a long day of putting in so much work you catch a nap at the spot while the rest of the dudes continue to skate and drink. And you dream about tomorrow.

FIFTH thing Its Sunday wake up lace up the boots and kill it.

In a month's time while I was gone this dude has completely changed his whole life. I come back and no one has talked to Reuben or seen him in days. He turned into Boxcar Willy jumping tracks. For real he was ghost. What's really going on is that he had made some big changes in his life and now he's starting to try to get everything back in order like it was. If you know Reuben you know he is always down for a session on anything. He has a real unqiue style about him he will skate shit no one else will even think about skating. He is not one that cares how rough the pavement is or how chunky the ledge is or how hard the line is to get to the bank, wall, gap, stairs, rail, or manny pad if he sees it in his head he will go for it full throttle. That's what I love about watching this guy skate. In that month's time one thing is clear he didn't stop skating any if anything he has been skating harder and charging shit like I have never seen before. You'll see right below in this sequence he pretty much shut this spot down with this trick in my opinion charging this wallride at mach 10. Here's to you Reuben keep ripping and charging good to see you skating so hard and killing like you have been.

Here's a look at what me and Colby have been working on mostly Colby because I've been out of the country and he is my motorcycle goto and GURU. We've been riding together since day one when we met up on our bikes about four years ago and right now we are both in the stage of building new bikes so heres a look at what's to come real soon. Me and Colby both have the same ideas and views on what bikes are supposed to look like in our minds and thats why he's doing this build for me because I could leave this project totally up to him and know that the finished project would be exactly what I wanted. I just spent the last month in Leysin, Switzerland shooting a job. While I was there I got the opportunity to go Para Gliding twice. It was an amazing experience to say the least the trip and running off the side of a mountain in the Swiss Alps was not to bad either. This is the third time I had been there but this was definitely the longest so I really got the chance to take advantage of all the Alps had to offer in the summer time from biking, rock climbing, music, Swiss National Day(which is basically their 4th of July on August 1st), beer, cheese lots of cheese, chocolate, film festivals, and beautiful country side it really is one of the most beautiful places to be in the summer and winter. So enough of that I could go on and on about the trip, so I shot a video of the jump with my Canon G10 and edited it down in iMovie. Hope you like it Im not James Tupper.

This shit is hilarious and awesome. In the new Skateboard Mag issue 64 with Slash on the cover at the satellite there is an article on the Baker/Deathwish Tour. In the article on page 74 there is a photo of my feet. I was hanging out with all the guys at Exodus Skate Shop when they came through Winston-Salem NC it was a huge signing and me and Atiba where having a conversation about the last issue of the magazine that came out and I was telling him that I had a photo in it of Jed Shooter. So we were just talking and I said oh I got to show you my feet and he was like ok whatever. Then when he seen the tattoo he was stoked because the idea of the tattoo design was from the Skateboard Mag they had put out a sticker with the design and the spine artwork was the same design. So I just took the design and changed it around a little. Atiba was pretty stoked so he took a photo of them I never in a million years thought that he would have used it in the article. But he did super stoked on it thanks Atiba. All the guys on that tour were a blast to hangout with.

Justin is a 52 lifer he grew up in the MTA a small town right of the the 52. So Justin calls me one night says I'm on my way into Mount Airy from Atlanta tomorrow lets get up and shoot some stuff. I was so down because one Justin kills it and for two I haven't seen the kid in like two months I definitely wanted to hang out and catch up and hear all of his stories about being on the road they are the best. So anyway needless to say I thought maybe we would get like one maybe two photos at the most because he only had one night and it was such a limited time frame you know. But no not Justin we just keep going and going and he just kept producing more and more. So here is all the photos that went down in such a short amount of time between skating, talking, driving, smoking cigarettes, and wardrobe changes because it was hot as shit that night. It has been a blast watching this kid grow up and watching his skating progress and progress. But DAMN its fun and its getting killed lately. This parking block is the newest addition to Joey's ramp besides the fact that he widen the whole ramp another four feet. Here are some photos of two separate weekends back to back when the weather was nice and warm. Every time I go over there the parking block has been moved to a new spot on the ramp or everyone is talking what's going down on the block this weekend. With or without the parking block Joey's ramp is always a good time and good session. This jewel is right off the 52. Enjoy!

Camel City home of RJR Tobacco Company better known as Winston-Salem North Carolina has been home to many rippers in it's day such as Neal Hendrix, Brian Howard, SOTY 07 Marc Johnson to name a few. The great thing about everyone that grow up skating in Winston not only skated street but all of them have ramp and transition skills as well, it either came from skating backyard ramps or "EV" Eastern Vert Skate Park I think that's what gave most of the skaters of this area such great style. Still today this hasn't changed. Here are some photos of some Camel City locals doing what they do best ripping everything in there path. Skaters are Eric Reaves, Reuben Pickle, and Sturgil Horn. Alright so the night before my bachelor party in Wilmington we all meet up in Raleigh to hangout and skate or whatever. That night ended up being a pretty productive evening James was out filming for clips for Post 22 check it out if you don't know, Tommy was out filming for clips and what not, and I was out shooting. Needless to say we stayed out all night lighting shit up with Jed's generator rig off the back of his Impala yes I said Impala if you haven't seen this shit its definitely a site to see an Impala rolling around with a generator hanging off the back end like 3foot strapped down to a trailer hitch rack its the shit and pretty funny at that but it fucking works and that's all that matters. So anyway last stop of the night was STATE and James said he had found this dumpster to skate so here's some snapshots of what went down at 3a.m. on a dumpster diving mission.

Joey Jones this kid fucking rips anything one of the most versatile skaters that I know around the 52 it doesn't matter to him street, pools, backyard setups good or bad, or whatever you throw at him he will skate it and get a least one trick if not many. A few things that come to mind when someone mentions Joey are Sheila's, Wookie Soda, Taco Bell, Purple Dungeon, Mountain Hippy, Jim Beam, Boom Whacker, Always Good Times, Great Sessions, and of course POT!!! Reuben, Spencer, and Toby Pickle own this amazing backyard ramp and they have been hosting BBQ ramp jam's and building ramps their whole lives. Not mention that they all kill it and are always willing to fire up the BBQ and slam some brews and skate. Some of the most insane shit has gone down at this house and on this ramp, everyone in the NC knows at least one Pickle if not all of them. Just ask Marc Johnson he grew up skating their backyard setups. If its got the MJ seal you know its for real fools.
